Best for zone 3-7 these seeds can be planted from in late fall (after your first hard freeze) to spring (after your last frost). Work enriched garden soil 6" deep and spread via a shaker where you mix your packet of seeds with four cups of peat before spreading (this prevents clumping your flowers together). Depending on if you want a dense floral look one packet will cover 200 square feet, or if you want a breezy country meadow look they will spread to 1000 square feet.
For warmer zones 8-9 it's best to wait until spring, after your last frost, to sow these.
These require light to germinate so spread and cover with a light dusting of peat to keep the birds away, or you can use a light covering of straw. Another enemy of flower seeds are ants, so if you are not opposed treat your seed area with some ant bait before seeding so they don't take some of your seeds for a winter snack.
The following fall you can let the flowers stay on the stem until after your first hard freeze and the annuals will self seed and the perennials should return the following year.

Not great

I wish I could give 3 1/2 starts but I have to give it 3 stars for two reasons. 1 is it is not a fine mist, it will leave your face looking crazy after you spray it. You end up having to pay it into your skin because there’s white splotches all over your face. So if you were to apply this with no mirror it would be a problem. Also I feel like it semi defeats the point of using a face spray if you have to use your hands to finish applying it. 2 is that for me it makes my skin feel hot and kinda burn around my mouth area. I think there might be too much fragrance or something. It does go away after awhile but it is not pleasant and I can’t imagine it is good for me.

Great for summer pool time

Gave it 5 stars because it really does its job. I used this sunscreen on my face during the summer when I was going to the pool a lot. It goes on white at first, but once you rub it in well the white cast pretty much disappears. Doesn’t make my face super greasy and protected my skin really well, no burns, no weird tan lines, nothing, as long as I reapplied it like the instructions say. The smell is light and not annoying. The bottle is small and easy to keep in a bag. Overall, a good product that actually works.

Easy to use, and long-lasting sun protection

Coppertone SPF 30 sunscreen is our go-to for the beach and pool. I also keep a bottle in the truck for when we're doing anything outdoors like tailgating and things of that nature. It's not greasy, it goes on easy, and works exactly as it should. We don't worry about sunburns with this stuff, and it seems to last just fine even after spending time in the water. I can put this on when we first go out onto the beach or the pool in the hot Carolinas sun, and I can spend hours out there without getting burned. I do reapply after a few hours if we're in and out of the water a lot or in the more intense sun further south like in the Caribbean.
To be fair, part of what I like is the nostalgia of using the same brand that my mom slathered on us kids in the 1970's, lol, but in those days sun protection wasn't as important to us as a deep tan was, so we'd still burn. Modern day Coppertone makes sun protection their priority, and I don't know of a better sunscreen that's as easy to apply and lasts any longer than this one. Is it possible to get a tan while using this product? Sure, but it takes longer and that's fine - because I rarely burn at all when using it, and that's the whole point.
